BESG was visited by Eva Dick from Misereor, BESG’s main funding partner on 01 November 2022, as part of her annual monitoring visits to South African partners within her portfolio.
BESG organized a field visit to Shiyabazali, an informal settlement, located in Howick, where she engaged with a women’s group of activists that BESG works with to address issues ranging from access to basic services, access to water and sanitation, housing, gender justice.
Following the community engagement, she was taken for a transit walk within Shiyabazali to witness the solar panels, water tanks and community gardens, some of the byproducts of the work done as a result of BESG supporting the community.
